About NAVSTRAT

NAVSTRAT is a geostrategic research practice. It measures how economic power and security power reinforce or undercut each other: trade dependence on rivals, exposure to supply shocks, defence industries and the conflicts that test them.

Its first public product is the NAVSTRAT Statecraft Security Balance Index (NAVSTRAT-SSBI), which scores 106 countries each year and every Friday on whether they hold every front of power at once.

Who is behind it

NAVSTRAT is run by Arjun Gidwani, an analyst with more than 16 years in enterprise strategy, geopolitical intelligence and open-source research across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
